Project Summary

A ground investigation was required to provide geotechnical and geo-environmental data for the design of a residential development and associated infrastructure.

Project Details

Fifty-six exploratory locations were carried out using CCGI Fraste rotary rigs, a CCGI windowless sampler rig and a tracked 15T 360 mechanical excavator.

The program of works included:

  • CCGI providing Principal Contractor drilling and engineering services.
  • 7 No rotary boreholes.
  • 3 No Rotary open hole boreholes.
  • 11 No Windowless Sampler boreholes.
  • In-situ testing including SPTs
  • 34 No Machine excavated trial pits
  • 2 No Machine excavated trial trenches
  • 3 No soakaways.
  • 10 No Dynamic Cone penetration Tests (DCPs).
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Geoenvironmental laboratory testing
