A ground investigation was required to provide geotechnical and geo-environmental data for the design of improvements to the rail network.

Project Details:

Seventeen exploratory locations were carried out using CCGI Fraste rotary rigs and a CCGI windowless sampler rig.

The program of works included:

  • CCGI providing engineering services
  • 8 No rotary boreholes.
  • 8 No Windowless Sampler boreholes.
  • In-situ testing including SPTs
  • 6 No Dynamic probes
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Geoenvironmental laboratory testing
  • Gas and groundwater monitoring
  • Inclinometer installation and monitoring
  • Vibrating Wire Piezometer installation and monitoring
  • Factual Reporting
