Between 2023 and 2024 CC Ground Investigations Ltd, as the specialist drilling subcontractor, worked collaboratively with the AtkinsRéalis’ Ground Engineering and Contaminated Land disciplines to facilitate the development of the former Beckton Gas Works. Through early contractor involvement the cost benefit of various intrusive techniques was appraised, with site walkover meetings with AtkinsRéalis, CCGI, the Client and various subcontractors to determine practical mitigation for the numerous site constraints.
This collaborative approach has led to submission of the project for three national industry awards, and we are delighted to announce that the project was a winner for Ground Engineering Awards 2025 and Brownfields Award 2025. This is a great achievement for all of the teams who worked together for the start of the sites redevelopment to deliver homes and amenities to one of London’s largest strategic regeneration areas.
