Project Summary

A ground investigation was required to provide geotechnical data and geoenvironmental for the design of a replacement water treatment works.

Project Details:

Six exploratory locations were carried out using a CCGI Cable Percussion rig, hand pits and a machine excavated trial pit.

The program of works included:

  • CCGI providing engineering services
  • 3 No Cable Percussion boreholes to 10m in glacial till
  • In-situ testing including SPTs
  • 2 No Test pits
  • 1 No machine excavated trial pit
  • Installation of gas and ground water monitoring standpipes
  • Return visits to monitor standpipes for gas and ground water.
  • Geotechnical and geoenvironmental laboratory testing.
