Modular rig to the rescue

A recent site in Eastcombe near Stroud, where a steep failing slope required one of our versatile and adaptable Modular Rigs with lead driller andrew leek and assistant driller Richard Preedy.

After carrying all the component parts of the rig, up the slope, our crew assembled the rig to undertake three window sample holes to maximum 6m depth.  As we were able to use the Modular Rig, the team also undertook, casing of the holes to stop unstable material collapsing  and  SPT tests at 1.00m intervals.  With careful logging of the strata by one of our own engineering geologists and installation of slip indicators, the design engineers will be working towards keeping this vital minor road open for residents again soon.
