Salary: Up to £31,000 OTE + New CC Ground Employee benefits package

Job Description:

Become a vital member of the Drilling Department of a ground investigation company. Assist in the operation of drilling rigs in a range of site environments throughout the UK to produce high quality samples, cores and in-situ test results to industry standards and maintain the high-quality reputation of CC Ground Investigations Ltd. The role will involve working on a number of varying contracts throughout the UK

Main Responsibilities

· Work under the direct supervision of a Lead Driller

· Assist with the operation of multi-purpose geotechnical rotary drilling rigs, dynamic sampling rigs and cable percussion rigs to produce high quality geotechnical sampling, coring, open holing, and in-situ testing

· Follow instruction accurately with care and precision

· Installation of geotechnical and geo-environmental monitoring equipment

· Maintain company drilling rig, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard

· General labouring duties to assist in the recovery of high-quality core samples

· Follow company operational and health and safety procedures

Essential Skills Required:

· Based out of Gloucester office (Innsworth) with frequent travel

· Willing to work throughout the UK and stay away overnight as contracts demand.

· Enjoys working outside in a variety of site environments

· No previous experience in this role required as fully supervised training is provided.

· Industry relevant tickets/qualifications desirable including: CSCS, Shea Gas, PTS, BESC, CAT, manual handling, first aid, however full on the job training can be provided

· Personal motivation, organisation and self-management is key to being successful

· You will possess a clean full UK driving licence, ideally with entitlement for towing and driving vehicles up to 7.5 ton, although not essential as training can be provided.

· Due to the nature of the role would suit hardworking individuals with aspirations to further develop a career in the drilling industry to gain up to NVQ Level 3 Land Drilling.

· Previous experience of working in either the construction or agriculture sector would be of an advantage.

· Full training/support will be given with a clear identifiable career pathway.

Engineering Geologists.

Job Description:

We are seeking established engineering geologists of between 1 to 5 years’ experience to work within our friendly and established teams delivering ground investigations throughout the UK. We can provide an exciting and varied workload working closely with our own in-house engineering and drilling teams, technicians and commercial staff providing you with the opportunity to develop your career and work towards Chartership.

We have an active training programme of all essential ground investigation qualifications, but also encourage staff development by attendance on courses including SARD, SSSTS, SMSTS and PRINCE2, along with bespoke technical, contractual, and commercial seminars including NEC3. Attendance at industry seminars is also encouraged.

Your bespoke training programme and training matrix is supported by dedicated engineering personnel, ensuring that your chosen career as an engineering geologist with CCGI continues to develop and be fulfilling. Attendance at Geological Society of London regional events is encouraged and there is a supported programme to work towards Chartership.

Mid-term career geologists from complimentary industries such as mineral exploration are encouraged to apply. Recent experience of similar employees into CCGI has been extremely successful. For any learning gaps attendance on relevant modules in our Graduate Training Programme can be arranged.

Your role will be predominantly site-based focusing on delivering a range of ground investigations where you will take the lead for stake holder engagement, site management, site documentation and site health and safety, often leading a team of logging engineers, drilling rigs and ancillary activities.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who takes responsibility, is well organised, quality orientated and self-motivating.

Due to the nature of the work and projects there will be a need to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home.

Essential Skills Required:

· Geology related degree

· 1+ years industry or industry related experience

· Good communication skills

· Experience of setting up and executing projects in accordance with current best working practice and standards

· Robust approach to management of site H&S requirements

· Full and clean UK driving license.

Benefits

· 1-3 years’ experience: Basic up to £32,000. With additional overtime OTE range of £35,000 – £39,000.

· 5 years’ +: Basic up to £38,000. With additional overtime OTE range of £41,000 – £45,000.

Engineering Geologist / Contract Manager

 

Job Description:

An individual with a minimum five years’ experience working as a contractor in the ground investigation industry who is well organised, quality orientated and self motivating.

You will be working as part of our engineering department in a predominantly office based role. You would have the responsibility of managing several ground investigation contracts from award of works through to successful completion. Contracts will vary in size from several day’s work through to larger projects involving multiple resources and £100k’s in value.

Primary job roles will include:

· Receiving tender information from our bid team and understanding the commercial / budget constraints of the work

· Responsibility for organising the investigation works including programming, resourcing, procurement and close liaison with suppliers and our client

· Preparation of briefs and instructions for the execution of the works

· Helping to establish the works on site and ensure that all field staff understand project requirements

· Ongoing communication and management of the investigation team through fieldwork to ensure technical, commercial, quality and safety compliance

· Processing of field information

· To manage key delivery dates of post fieldwork stages. Including issue of draft logs, reports, scheduling of laboratory testing and preparation of valuations

· Use of company financial control management systems

Essential Skills Required:

· Minimum of five years working as a Ground Investigation contractor managing and supervising investigation projects

· Extensive experience supervising investigation works on site including knowledge and experience of logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930 2020 and EC7, site sampling, in situ testing and laboratory testing in accordance with best practice and current standards

· Commercial awareness to manage budgets for each ground investigation

· Experience of setting up and executing investigation contracts in accordance with current best working practice and standards

· Awareness and understanding of site H&S requirements including CDM Regulations

· Ability to write factual reports

· Full and clean UK driving license.

· Dependent on experience: Basic up to £40,000. With additional overtime OTE range of £43,000 – £47,000.
