Super skills and calibrated

Fresh for the New Year our staff took part in our annual Winter Down Day for Health & Safety this month.  The short first week back after the Christmas break gave CC Ground Investigations Ltd a great opportunity to continue our on-going staff training and health surveillance.

In collaboration with Sanctus Training Ltd, Well To Work Independent Occupational Health Services and Travis Perkins Hire, our staff attended several training sessions over a two-day period.  Sanctus ran a couple of sessions of manual handling training for our field staff and engineers, whilst the basics of on-site plant maintenance and the importance of carrying out daily/weekly PUWER checks was taken care of by Hayley and Chris from Travis Perkins, Cheltenham.  Maria also popped in to carry out our annual dermal health checks for ‘at risk’ staff exposed to hand-arm vibration and the audiometric surveillance.

This year, in the light of Brexit and the unknown that lies ahead, the company directors led a session on commercial awareness for contract managers, senior management and senior drilling staff, underlying the importance of maintaining focus not only with regards health & safety but also in terms of controlling and managing project cost.

In addition to all the training and health surveillance undertaken, we also took the opportunity to call in Equipe Group to calibrate all our SPT hammers too!  It was a busy couple of days.
