CC Ground Investigations Ltd, working in partnership with global consultancy Advisian for their mutual client National Grid Property, has launched the ‘Hands on – Hands off’ campaign. This aims to raise awareness of work-related hand injuries. Drilling operatives are particularly at risk of suffering a preventable hand injury through exposure to hazards such as manual handling, trapping & pinching, cuts and abrasions, extremes of temperature and occupational dermatitis.
The campaign comprises a series of eye catching posters and toolbox talks, delivered by Advisian field consultants and CCGI staff, highlighting the correct selection of task specific PPE, identifying the pinch and trapping points on our drilling rigs and investigating why injuries occur and how they can be prevented in the future. The campaign will run throughout 2016 with an aim of eradicating hand injuries.
“The campaign has been received well by CCGI staff and National Grid Property, so much so that from the initial ‘local’ campaign, we have been asked to help expand the campaign across the wider National Grid Property land remediation supply chain”, said CCGI QHSE Manager Alistair Cima.
