A big well done to CCGI Director, Mark Carden for recently completing the River Dart 10km swim and a 2km cold water swim at Cheltenham Lido, and in the process raised funds for two amazing charities.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me through sponsorship and on the river bank for the Dart swim” said Mark.
“I knew the Dart 10km would be a big challenge as it involved open water swimming in the wild River Dart from Totnes to Dittisham, near Dartmouth, but I am very happy with my time of 2 hours 24 minutes. The five months of training really paid off. We raised over £800 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust which all helps toward keeping Devon’s vital two air ambulances flying”.
The Cheltenham Lido cold water swim was in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and particularly special as it was also in support of Patrick Smith of Core Geotechnics who is a good friend and client of CCGI since the company started in 2001. Patrick has recently gone through extensive cancer treatment but has retained that positive outlook that we all know him for. Patrick came down to cheer us on and it was great to see him.
