It’s our birthday. CCGI is celebrating 15 years in business today. From humble beginnings the company has grown steadily and is now firmly established in the ground investigation market.
“It all started with a single Dando Terrier 2000 window sampling rig way back in 2001,” explained joint company owner and Director Mark Carden.
“Rob Clarke and I took the plunge into business together and for the first 18 months we were out drilling with the Terrier rig as well as trying to develop the business. Back then most of our management meeting were in cheap hotel restaurants after a hard day on site. Fortunately, things went well and we were soon able to buy another Terrier rig and take on full time staff such as Dave Drew and Keith Hayward, who are still with us to this day,” Mark continued.
In 2005, Jim Constantine joined CCGI and purchased the first rotary rig. The company has expanded steadily ever since to the point where CCGI now comprises over 50 staff working on projects throughout the UK, and occasionally further afield. We have a drilling fleet of nine rotary rigs, an engineering department of ten Engineering Geologists, five Terrier window sampling rigs and a vacuum excavation unit. Our fieldwork is managed and supervised by an excellent team of engineers and project managers
“We have always taken particular care in investing in the right people and equipment,” added Rob Clarke. “We recognise the importance of having motivated and skilled staff with a ‘Can Do’ attitude that I believe sets us apart from many of the other companies in this very competitive market.”
“The first 15 years have been good but we are not taking anything for granted and are constantly looking to improve the service we offer. Watch this space.” Rob concluded.
